Real Reviews.
Real Shooters.
Real Talk.
RangeHot.com delivers no-BS firearm reviews, photography, and insights straight from the range — built by shooters who live it, not by marketers behind a desk.

Born from passion,
built on experience.
Founded in 2012, RangeHot.com was created to bring back authenticity to firearm media. What started as one shooter’s mission to write honest, unfiltered reviews has grown into a trusted voice in the firearms industry.
Here, you won’t find buzzwords or corporate polish. You’ll find thorough testing, hands-on experience, and a deep respect for the craft of shooting. RangeHot is known for:
- Detailed reviews grounded in real-world testing and practical performance.
- Original photography that captures the craftsmanship and character of each firearm.
- Expert insight from decades in shooting, competition, and professional training.
- Balanced perspectives from a diverse team of contributors who keep it honest and relatable.
We’ve reviewed and photographed products from brands like Colt, CZ, Ruger, Glock, Springfield Armory, Marlin, Hi-Point, and Dan Wesson, and our photography has been featured by the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and other major institutions.
Our goal has always been simple: to help shooters make informed decisions — and to keep firearms culture rooted in knowledge, respect, and authenticity.
About Hunter Elliott
Firearms have been part of Hunter Elliott’s life since childhood. Growing up in North Carolina, his father — a Marine veteran — introduced him to shooting, reloading, and the community that surrounds responsible firearm ownership.
After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Hunter continued his journey through competitive shooting and advanced training with organizations like Gunsite and Range Ready, and under the guidance of experts such as Roger Pettit.
Hunter began as a contributor and moderator for M1911.org, later writing for both online and print publications. But the overly sanitized style of traditional media pushed him to create something different — a platform that spoke with shooters, not at them.
That’s how RangeHot.com was born: a place where reviews sound like a conversation at the range — straightforward, detailed, and rooted in real experience.
Today, Hunter’s work combines deep technical knowledge, storytelling, and professional-grade photography. He brings in shooters from all walks of life to ensure every review is balanced, honest, and real.
