Mec-Gar steel Glock magazine review
With all the Glock perfection being thrown around, there sure are a lot of aftermarket parts out for Glock, not made of plastic. It would be hard to argue that the lifeblood of a pistol is the magazine and while plastic magazines are fine I reckon I would see a steel magazine as an upgrade.
Mec-Gar stepped up and created an eighteen-round magazine for the Glock 17 and 19. With a cost of twenty-nine dollars, finished in black with a bright green follower, it would certainly be a worthwhile upgrade or at least an addition to your Glock kit.
We tested them in a Glock 19 and 17 as well as a Barnes Precision Machine 9mm AR pistol, reviewed here, a Ruger RXM, reviewed here, and the Kel-Tec Gen 3 Sub 2000, reviewed here. There were no issues with any of the firearms we used, including those with ball and defensive ammunition, which all had reliable slide lock back.
With its stellar reputation, I would not hesitate to add Mec-Gar magazines to my resources.
