Elite Tactical Systems Glock Magazine.

ETS

I had the opportunity to review the Elite Tactical Systems thirty one capacity aftermarket Glock magazine. I initially tried it in the American Tactical Imports Mil Sport 9mm AR carbine, which you can read that review by following this link.  After I was satisfied it was reliable in that platform using several defensive and ball rounds I then tried it in my Glock 17, pictured above and my Glock 26. Using the same protocol with defensive and ball ammunition.

The magazine performed just fine in the carbine as well as the two Glock handguns over a couple hundred rounds. It is translucent, and the theory is you can glance at the magazine and see how much capacity you have left. I reckon that is plausible with the extended magazine but with the other, factory size they fit flush so that point is moot. This magazine is all polymer, and while I experienced no breakage during the month or so I was using it, I wonder how it would hold up over time and hard usage. There are also many other models available I would feel comfortable buying a few, trying them out during training, and see how well they would hold up over an extended period of time. Though I did not use the magazine as much as I would to consider it 110% reliable in all conditions, I did run it enough to warrant extended trials and see what is what.

ETS-2

It has provisions for the Gen 4 magazine.

ETS-3

Translucent from base pad to feed lips. Truthfully this does not bother me but I don’t buy into referencing magazine capacity by looking at your magazine. In the local matches I compete in, I am generally to busy moving and hope I don’t run out of luck, Charlie Daniels reference intended.

The ETS magazine also proved reliable in the Glock 26.

I spent much of my youth involved with firearms and felt the call early on to the United States Marine Corps, following in my father's and his brother's footsteps. Just after high school I enlisted and felt most at home on the rifle range, where I qualified expert with several firearms and spent some time as a rifle coach to my fellow Marines. After being honorably discharged I continued teaching firearm safety, rifle and pistol marksmanship, and began teaching metallic cartridge reloading. In the late 1990s I became a life member to the National Rifle Association and worked with the Friends of the NRA. Around that time my father and I became involved with IDPA and competed together up until he passed away. I began reviewing firearms for publications in the mid 2000s and have been fortunate to make many friends in the industry. Continuing to improve my firearms skills and knowledge is a never ending journey in which we should all be committed. I am also credited as weapons master on a few independent films.
