The Hi-Point C9 has made several appearances on rangehot, and with the new C9 Yeet Cannon G1 coming out not long ago, I had an idea of what to expect. After about 500 rounds, the pistol proved as reliable and accurate as of the original C9. You can read my review of the 916 C9 and 995Ts Carbine by following this link.

With everything being the same at the C9 except the Yeet Cannon can be had with a 1/2′ x 28 threaded barrel, denoted by the TB at the end of the model name. One thing Ito note is the slide is tall enough you can use the factory sights with your silencer. With a deep beaver tail getting a solid purchase on the pistol is easily achieved, and it the contoured grip, it points naturally.

The sights are more than adequate with a drift adjustable rear U notch and orange dots and front blade with yellow highlights. That coloration contrasted nicely. Hi-Point also provides a rear peep sight if that is what you prefer.

3 round groups shot from a rest at 25 yards

With over 500 rounds of range and defensive ammunition through the gun, the only issue I had was with some of the lighter subsonic loads not consistently locking the slide to the rear on an empty magazine. To be fair, I have had that happen on other 9mm pistols as well.

The Yeet Cannon is a fixed barrel blowback design that would aid in accuracy and reliability as it is a simple but robust design.

With Hi-Point pistols being American made with a lifetime warranty, they are an excellent option for an inexpensive handgun. Now everything has become so expensive due to Brandon not being able to function those looking for a reliable handgun on a budget Hi-Point firearms ais where I would start. We had a great time with this new ideration of the C9, and with a threaded barrel as an option, it makes a fine silencer host. For those who hate on Hi-Points, well, gun snobbery is a tell-tale sign of a neophyte attempting to garner creditability.

I spent much of my youth involved with firearms and felt the call early on to the United States Marine Corps, following in my father's and his brother's footsteps. Just after high school I enlisted and felt most at home on the rifle range, where I qualified expert with several firearms and spent some time as a rifle coach to my fellow Marines. After being honorably discharged I continued teaching firearm safety, rifle and pistol marksmanship, and began teaching metallic cartridge reloading. In the late 1990s I became a life member to the National Rifle Association and worked with the Friends of the NRA. Around that time my father and I became involved with IDPA and competed together up until he passed away. I began reviewing firearms for publications in the mid 2000s and have been fortunate to make many friends in the industry. Continuing to improve my firearms skills and knowledge is a never ending journey in which we should all be committed. I am also credited as weapons master on a few independent films.

  1. I own 2 Hi point C9’s and 2 Hi point 380’s and I am looking at the HI POINT YEET CANNON G1 TB and thinking will the slide of the YETT work on my C9.
The reason for question is is it lighter.
if it is not can I use the Barrel from the HI POINT YEET CANNON G1 TB in my C9….also can the Items be bought?
    Thank You
    Frank

  2. […] The manual of arms of the new Yeet Cannon or YC9 is the same as the C9, with the safety and magazine release in the same places. The safety lever can manually lock the slide to the rear. You can read my review of the Hi-Point G1 YC9 C9 by following this link.  […]
