Hi-Point Yeet Cannon 9mm

Hi-Point Yeet Cannon…..finally.

A few months ago, I was fortunate enough to get an advanced test sample of the new Hi-Point Yeet Cannon being announced as I publish this review. I appreciate Dave and MKS Supply for all the help over the years.

The manual of arms of the new Yeet Cannon or YC9 is the same as the C9, with the safety and magazine release in the same places. The safety lever can manually lock the slide to the rear. You can read my review of the Hi-Point G1 YC9 C9 by following this link.

The front sight has a deep yellow color but can be swapped out for any front sight compatible with Glock. The rear sight is adjustable for elevation and windage, with two red dots contrasting against the front sight; The YC9 is also optics-ready by swapping out the rear sight.

The top strap is serrated to aid in reducing glare.

The trigger broke about seven pounds with generous take-up and overtravel. Very similar to the C9. We also get a Picatinny Rail on the dust cover and forward and rear cocking serrations.

Both sides of the grip area and front strap are well textured, with an added rubber bumper on the back strap. The new YC9 utilizes a grip safety, which I believe is an excellent idea.

Overall, the new Yeet Cannon is more aesthetically pleasing and comes standard with a ten-round magazine. While it is similar to the C9 with the increased capacity and updated design, it is an upgrade from the older pistol.

Conclusions

This pistol has been long awaited, and I get that Hi-Point took their time in getting the engineering right, so the pistol will be good to go when released. My test sample has been 100% reliable, with all sorts of range and defensive ammunition throughout the review except when coupled with the Liberty Suppressors Centurion silencer. Oddly enough, with any other silencer or sans can, there were no issues over the about 700 rounds we ran through the pistol. You can read my review of the Liberty Suppressors Centurion by following this link and the Infinity X by following this link. Though I cannot explain why the Centurion gave the YC9 an issue, it was the only silencer that did, and when adding a can to a pistol, you change a lot of the dynamics. While the C9 has always been a good pistol, this new Yeet Cannon is definitely an upgrade. I am thankful to see a magazine capacity increase and updated texturing. As I have said, Hi-Point always makes an affordable and reliable firearm made in the USA with a lifetime warranty for those that don’t have the budget to spend several hundred dollars for a handgun. The new Yeet Cannon is an ideal candidate for those budget minded if you are looking to get a few pistols to have around or can appreciate what Hi-Point has to offer. For all the gun snobs, you can tell my mom it ain’t worth having, and she can probably outshoot you with one.

  1. Thank You for your reviews. Because of your videos and reviews I’m the proud owner of 3 Hi-Point pistols. C9, JHP45, and JXP10.
I am a diehard Smith and Wesson Man, but Hi-Point means as much to me as S&W.
I think they are beautiful looking firearms.
I don’t enjoy rifles very much. If I can find a purple pink camo carbine I may get one, but plan on buying all of Hi-Point ‘s pistol calibers. All 3 Hi-Points I own have the purple pink camo grips on them. I was aware of Hi-Point but your honest reviews helped me so very much
