It was about a month ago I received the Action Enhancement Kit for the Gen 5 Glock 17 from Apex Tactical Specialties. I dropped the trigger unit and performance connector into the Gen 5 Glock 17 I reviewed a few months ago. You can read that review by following this link.
The kit reduces trigger pull weight by about a pound and lessened take up and reset. The factory Glock trigger broke at five and a half pounds, after dropping in the Apex trigger it broke just under five pounds. Pull weight was not reduced by a whole pound but it was very close, but take up and reset was noticeable lessened, which in my opinion is a bit more important. While the factory Glock trigger is made of polymer, the Apex trigger is made from anodized aluminum, another subtle upgrade.
After a couple of hundred rounds downrange without issue I am confident the Apex trigger did not compromise reliability while making the Gen 5 Glock a little more user friendly.
I reckon the trigger is the most complained aspect of the Glock pistol, with ergonomics being a close second. Personally I don’t mind the feel of a Glock but it does take some getting used to. If you are, however, wanting to upgrade the factory trigger on your Glock the Action Enhancement Kit from Apex Tactical Specialties is a viable option. The kit can be sourced for around $120, so the investment is not to deep.
Hunter great review — enjoyed the video and the information very helpful. Keep up good work.
