It was a few months ago Zip Targets sent me their range kit.

Assembly is quite simple, as shown by this video from Zip Targets.

The two pullies held up will over plenty of use. You can see here we strapped it to the boom of my excavator. Screwing the pullies is a great way to secure them, but the straps held them plenty fast for all day usage.

The assembly is made of machined aluminum, and in the event that a part is lost or struck by an errant round, they can be ordered singularly.

The included loom made packing and unpacking the 200 feet of paracord a bit easier.

We used the system several times with plenty of takedown and setup, and everything held up well during use, and the portable range worked exactly as intended. In my opinion, it is well-designed and functional. While it does make a day at the range more convenient, there is also a safety factor. Once set up, it keeps you from having to go downrange until it is time to pack it all in. For just under $150, it is a solid buy, but if you use the promo code rangehot, you will save 20% on your order. If you are looking for something to set up to add to your range experience, it is worth looking into.

I spent much of my youth involved with firearms and felt the call early on to the United States Marine Corps, following in my father's and his brother's footsteps. Just after high school I enlisted and felt most at home on the rifle range, where I qualified expert with several firearms and spent some time as a rifle coach to my fellow Marines. After being honorably discharged I continued teaching firearm safety, rifle and pistol marksmanship, and began teaching metallic cartridge reloading. In the late 1990s I became a life member to the National Rifle Association and worked with the Friends of the NRA. Around that time my father and I became involved with IDPA and competed together up until he passed away. I began reviewing firearms for publications in the mid 2000s and have been fortunate to make many friends in the industry. Continuing to improve my firearms skills and knowledge is a never ending journey in which we should all be committed. I am also credited as weapons master on a few independent films.
